We are all well aware of the current situation happening in our nation. If you don't already know, we are a Coast Guard family, so every purchase you make from us right now really helps. Many people have asked how they can help us directly, and we are so grateful for the love and outpouring of support we continue to see. Thank you once again, for all that you do!

The phrase "a scarf with a purpose" is significant to me because it describes each one I design and donate.
I have severe chronic neutropenia and spend a lot of my time sitting in doctor's offices, specifically hematology/oncology offices. I sit next to people who are very sick, some even dying. Some are alone; others are not. There's always this one little table that has beautiful knitted hats that people make and donate, and, for a while now, I've wanted to add a hand-dyed silk scarf to it. Up until recently, though, I didn't know how I wanted them to be designed. I know now. I want the scarf to resonate so strongly within the person that they find hope. I want them to wear the scarf and not see themselves as sick, but beautiful and strong. I want them to smile and have joy. Finally, I want them to know that in this world, there is love. Someone loves you and believes in you. That's me. |
