I know that the statement in the title has been repeated throughout this site, but it's incredibly important to me. I have severe chronic neutropenia and spend a lot of my time sitting in doctor's offices-specifically Hematology/Oncology. I sit next to people who are very sick-some even dying. Some are alone, others are not. There's always this one little table that has beautiful knitted hats that people make and donate and, for a while now, I've wanted to add a hand dyed silk scarf to it. Up until recently, though, I didn't know what I wanted them to say. I know now. I want the message on the scarf to resonate so strongly within the person that they find hope. I want them to wear the scarf and not see themselves as sick, but beautiful and strong. I want them to smile with joy. Finally, I want them to know that in this world there is love. Someone loves you and believes in you. That's me.
